We are delighted that Chris Bell will be representing the Green Party in the Morley South By-Election.
Chris has been running active campaigns around Morley, showing interest in local and national issues and holding the elected politicians to account for the decisions they have made.
Chris says: “I have been living in the Morley South ward for 17 years and would be very proud to represent the passionate local community and ensure their concerns are heard and acted upon by the city and town councils respectively.
In the last 4 years, my key focus has been on representing the strongly held belief of the local community that the development at Capitol Park must be declined. In this I advocated for residents at 2 LCC plans panel meetings.“

In this year’s May elections, Greens won a record number of Councillors across the country. The Green Party has quadrupled their number of councillors in recent year to over 850 in over 170 councils. We’re currently in power on 39 authorities including Bristol and Mid Suffolk – which won council of the year in 2024 – and are part of the administration in over 40 councils.
