The decision to close Little Owls nurseries in Gipton North, Seacroft and Chapel Allerton, has sparked significant backlash from parents and carers. Parents have criticised the council for what they see as a rushed and inadequate consultation process. Many felt excluded from meaningful participation, as consultation meetings were held at inconvenient times, and some parents were not even aware that the consultations were happening.
