Green principles are the answer for Gaza

Leeds Green Party calls for the UK government and all international partners to be clear-sighted and humane about the future of Gaza and its Palestinian population.

A post made recently by President Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform, accompanied with no comment, shows an AI-generated video of Gaza with the lyrics “Donald’s coming to set you free, bringing the light for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear: Trump Gaza’s finally here”.

Leeds Green Party totally rejects the suggestion of ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the ridiculous notion of turning it into a US-owned beach resort.

The Green Party believes that the UK’s foreign policy should be based on shared commitments to democracy, peace, global solidarity and the protection of human rights, and its MPs are working for the UK to take the lead in upholding the right to self-determination and the enforcement of international law.

Mothin Ali comments:

“What’s good enough for us and other Europeans and Americans is good enough for the Palestinians who have been suffering for far too long. Gaza needs to be part of a wider regional settlement in which the needs and wishes of all peoples are understood and met.”
