Green Party peer Natalie Bennett visits Leeds

On Sunday 30th June, we were delighted to welcome Baroness Natalie Bennett, a Green Party peer in the House of Lords, to Leeds.

Natalie and party members & supporters met at Hyde Park Book Club to discuss the forthcoming General Election, with polling day just four days away! Thank you to all who came along, and for the many contributions to discussions around both the election and the future work of Leeds Green Party.

Natalie is the former leader of the Green Party (2012-16) and a member of Sheffield Green Party. She recently released her book “Change Everything”, which she described as a compilation of what she has argued over many years. It has been described by those who have read it as “a bold manifesto advocating for sweeping societal reforms to address pressing issues like economic inequality, climate change, and social justice”

This Thursday, people in Leeds and across the country go to the polls to decide who will lead the country for the next five years. We – the Green Party – are standing on a platform of real hope and real change.

As a party, we understand that we need to protect our NHS, keep public services in public hands, and oppose hostility towards marginalised communities all whilst putting the climate at the heart of all that we do. Join us in pushing for a fairer, greener Leeds and country today!
