Wetherby & Easingwold

Arnold’s vision’s for the 2024 General Election

The Green Party have brought out the big guns by selecting Councillor Arnold Warneken for the Wetherby & Easingwold constituency.
Arnold Warneken has been selected to replace Anna Jacobs who was the previous candidate, but who has stood down as PPC for personal reasons.

Arnold says ‘I have acquired a reputation of getting things done where others give up. I have tackled residents’ problems and achieved many positive results…I want to be a Green voice at Westminster, to put an end to austerity, and to hold the new government to account, preventing any further U-turns on people- and planet-centred policies.”

Arnold has lived and worked near Wetherby for 40 years, running an organic food distribution business. He is also involved in a local B-Corp company which recently won a King’s Award for Sustainability.

He is currently Noth Yorkshire Councillor for Ouseburn, Chair of Tockwith Parish Council, and lives in Cowthorpe, all within the constituency.

Arnold is an experienced politician having first been elected in 1991 to Harrogate District Council. In May 2022 he was elected to North Yorkshire County Council with an overwhelming 69% of the vote, in the Ouseburn Division which also sits within the constituency.
