Leeds Green Party is celebrating a successful set of results with 3 new councillors elected.
- Gipton and Harehills was won by Mothin Ali with a seismic 51.63% of the vote, totalling 3,070 votes.
- Tim Goodall was elected with 2,688 votes, gaining 51% in Headingley and Hyde Park.
- Lou Cunningham regained her Armley seat with 2,113 votes and 43%.
But the Greens performed well in several other wards, achieving significant gains.
- In Wetherby, Anna Jacobs gained 2,845 votes and 37.5%.
- Omar Mushtaq in Hunslet & Riverside, with 2,067 votes and 42%, was head-to-head with Labour’s candidate.
- In Roundhay, David Alan Anthony gained 26% with a total of 1,946 votes.
- Rachel Hartshorne in Moortown received 1,298 votes and 18%, while Leon Zadok came second in Little London & Woodhouse with 22%.
- Matt Rogan, in his first campaign in Beeston and Holbeck, garnered 22% with 1,092 votes.
- Victoria Smith in Kirkstall and Burley also performed well, receiving 20.58% and 1,137 votes.
- Bobak Walker in Chapel Allerton received 1,392 votes and 21%.
