Harehills, Leeds 23 July – On the evening of Tuesday, 23rd July, Cllr Mothin Ali organised a community event to support the Harehills residents following the unrest of the previous week. With remarkable speed, Cllr Ali, alongside Baroness Natalie Bennett, Romanian MP Antonio Andrusceac, the Leeds Green Party and community groups, rallied a large number of residents and a diverse array of speakers to attend the gathering at St. Aidan’s Church.

The decision to close Little Owls nurseries in Gipton North, Seacroft and Chapel Allerton, has sparked significant backlash from parents and carers. Parents have criticised the council for what they see as a rushed and inadequate consultation process. Many felt excluded from meaningful participation, as consultation meetings were held at inconvenient times, and some parents were not even aware that the consultations were happening.
