Ed vision’s for the 2024 General Election
Ed has lived, worked, and volunteered around south and central Leeds for 20+ years. He’s the Green Party city councillor for Hunslet and Riverside, and works year-round with residents on grassroots action, advocacy, and problem-solving.
He’s co-founded or co-led dozens of local organisations, events, and campaigns. These include: the Big Bike Fix, Holbeck Viaduct, Beeston Festival, Leeds Repair Café, Cross Flatts parkrun, LS-TEN skatepark, Same Skies think tank, Together for Peace, and more.
He’s also closely involved in schools and youth work, outdoor pursuits and sports programmes, environmental and pollution campaigns, community litter-picking and gardening, inter-community dialogue, and volunteering with many local charities and projects.
Key political priorities for Ed are: affordable homes; kickstarting a green industrial revolution; better affordable public transport; defending the NHS, and bringing key industries back into public control; an immediate ceasefire and a just peace for Palestine and Israel; real devolution of powers out of Westminster; upgrading our outdated voting system; fairer taxation, and rebalancing the economy in favour of independent business; and serious action on the climate emergency.
We came a solid 2nd across this constituency in the recent Local Elections.
The Conservatives stand zero chance of winning here, and we are the positive local alternative to Labour.
Ed lives in Beeston, in the heart of the constituency, with his wife and two kids. He likes cycling, cats, kayaking, film, DIY, street art, and coffee.
