National Clean Air Day

18 June 2018

Let's make every day a clean air day

Central & Outer Leeds Green Party will be supporting Healthy Air Leeds (HAL) on June 21st for the 2nd annual National Clean Day. HAL are organising a rush hour ride to take some space off cars on the streets of Leeds and give them over to zero emission cyclists! Leeds Cycling Campaign are leading the ride and will be congregating on Leeds City Square at 5pm on Thursday. They will be riding round town and ending on Briggate where Healthy Air Leeds will be handing out flyers and chatting to people about how to reduce emissions in our city.

Rachel Hartshorne, Green Party member and founder of HAL, says

"Air pollution kills hundreds of people in Leeds every year and improving air quality is a key policy for the Green Party."

You can join the Green Party's Breathing Cities campaign to put pressure on the government to provide more money for active and public transport so that we can breathe clean air in Leeds.

Central & Outer Leeds Green Party is the group within the Green Party of England & Wales with responsibility for the parliamentary constituencies of Leeds Central, Leeds East, Leeds North East, Pudsey and Morley & Outwood, and the 20 council wards that make up those constituencies.
