6 July 2016
Members of Green Parties in Yorkshire & the Humber are invited to a hustings event, where you can meet and ask questions of the candidates for leader and deputy leader of the Green Party of England and Wales.
After the hustings we will be showcasing some of the best work by local Green Parties across the region and running workshops so that you can learn from them.
The event takes place from 10am-4pm on Saturday 16th July at St Chad's Parish Centre, Headingley, Leeds.
Draft timetable for the day:
10am – Arrivals: Tea, coffee and cake; meeting the candidates
10.30am – Hustings; the timings of these will be decided when we know the number of candidates. Each candidate will be able to speak and be open to questions. Those unable to attend can tweet or e-mail questions, and we hope to live-stream the session. Details of these links will be sent out with the second notice, once we are aware of how many candidates are attending. The session will be chaired by Tom Franklin (York Green Party)
12.30-1.30pm – Lunch; during lunch there will be a business meeting of YHGP from 1.00-1.30pm chaired by Ann Forsaith, Regional Coordinator of YHGP (Leeds Green Party).
1.30–4pm – Regional Training: several local parties will introduce areas of activity that they do well before the meeting separates into groups focussed on these activity areas. It is expected that any member attending will have the opportunity to take part in two discussions.
Otley Road is served by many buses. See the St Chad's website for directions.
